The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD), Contracts Department awarded a $56,518,359 Firm-Fixed-Price, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract for the fabrication, testing, inspection, and delivery of the M260, M261, LAU-61 series, LAU-68 series, and LAU-131 series 2.75 Inch Rocket Launchers and subcomponents on a sole source basis to Arnold Defense and Electronics, LLC (AD&E), 3000 Arnold Tenbrook Road, Arnold, MO 63010. AD&E is the current and sole manufacturer of all 2.75-inch Rocket Launchers and has specialized tooling, equipment, and subject matter expertise required to manufacture the subject Rocket Launchers. AD&E possesses unique and proprietary hardware and know-how involving the manufacture of the launchers, and is the only source of the unique test equipment required to test the launchers. The facilities, special test equipment, tooling and special production processes (i.e., magneforming) necessary are the proprietary intellectual property of AD&E. In addition, ADE is the designer, developer, and has patented both the Intervalometer and Safety Switch that are two essential components for the Navy and Air Force’s 2.75-inch rocket launcher.
