The USDA/ARS intends to award a Firm Fixed Price sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), single source for purchase not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold, to:

Description of requirement: The objective of this sole source award is to procure a multimodal microscope capable of 3D imaging of organoids, as well as micromanipulation of oocytes and embryos. There will be two uses for this equipment. The first is generation of cloned embryos or genome engineered embryos by micromanipulation procedures. The second is imaging of complex, 3D cell complexes that can’t be imaged by standard imaging procedures. This microscope system is complex, and many parts are needed to have a fully functional micromanipulator microscope system.

The NAICS code for this requirement is 334516 and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees. The PSC code for this requirement is 6640.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement.
