Statement of Work



Major Surgery Instrument Sets





Introduction: The purpose of this document is to provide a statement of work (SOW), for the purchase of needed surgical instrumentation for Surgical Department and Sterile Processing Services (SPS) for safe surgical procedures and appropriate processing of all surgical instrumentation.





VA Directive 1116 requires that facilities ensure that all instrumentation used for surgical procedures must have the specific piranha handpieces that are compatible with said instrumentation. Directive 1116 also states that secondary instruments or instrument sets are required to ensure procedures can continue if primary sets become damaged or contaminated during surgery.





This purchase will be for Sterile Processing Services (S) of Network 15, VA Heartland Network, Station #589



Use of equipment: The equipment requested will be used by the Surgery Department staff for procedures performed at the facility and by Sterile processing staff for appropriate processing and safe handling of instrumentation.



Requirements: Sterile Processing Services (SPS) needs the following instrumentation to meet the requirements set forth by VA Directive 1116 and to adhere to the facility policies for standardized equipment to ensure compatibility for other existing equipment utilized in both SPS and Surgery Departments, as well as staff competency for all equipment used by surgical staff and processed by SPS.



Specifications: The following specific instrumentation from is needed to ensure VA Directive 1116 and facility policy is being met.
