The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), Logistics Management, has a need to add spare replacements for Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) Acquisition Control Unit (ACU) Data Collection Package (DCP) Communication Antenna, Mounting Bracket and installation Kit by purchasing 20 each RF Antennas S100-1E1-1 housed at NLSC for the NAVY (SLEP Program). This acquisition is proposed to be sole sourced to Antenna Products Corporation as the only known qualified source of this assembly DPV-54. Another product would have to go under a strict functions and environmental testing to make sure it supports the consumable spares and Logistics replacement parts for ASOS that are required to be form, fit, and functionally identical to the parts currently deployed on fielded systems. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), Only one responsible source.
