INVITATION FOR BIDS

The City of Clayton is accepting sealed bids for the Shaw Park Aquatic Center HVAC Project.  Bids will be received by the City of Clayton Parks & Recreation Department, 50 Gay Avenue, Clayton, MO  63105, until 10:00 AM CST, on Thursday, February 29, 2024. The bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud at The Center of Clayton Meeting Room A at 10:05 AM.

The Scope of work includes the replacement of the HVAC system at Shaw Park Aquatic Center, located at 111 S. Brentwood, Clayton, MO 63105. The current system consists of 7 Carrier 38HDL units and 7 ceiling mounted heater units of unknown make and model.  The goal of this project is to replace these units with units of similar capacity and function while providing for energy efficiency.

Each bidder shall submit a lump sum price for all work required to complete the project. The City intends to issue a Notice to Proceed on or before Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

Bid documents will be available from the city’s website: www.claytonmo.gov /bids starting Thursday, January 11, 2024.

An optional pre-bid meeting will be held onWednesday, January 24, at11:00 AM at the Shaw Park Aquatic Center.

Questions regarding this project should be directed to Justin Whipple, Superintendent of Parks, City of Clayton. All questions shall be submitted in writing via email to jwhipple@claytonmo.gov .  No questions will be accepted after 5:00 PM on January 26, 2024.

Not less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages shall be paid to all workmen performing under this contract in this area according to the rates determined by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations of the State of Missouri.

A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

The City reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and waive any irregularities in the best interest of the City.
