Haying of Landfill

Newton-McDonald County Landfill Board is seeking bids for haying of the Newton-McDonald County Landfill located at:

525 Austin Avenue Neosho MO 64850; Situated in the SW ¼ Section 15, SE ¼ Section 16 and NW ¼ Section 22, Township 24 North Range 32 West, Newton County Missouri (approximately 129 acres).

Hay will be cut a minimum of twice per year with the first cutting of hay to be completed by June 30th 2023.

Mowing/Haying
Mowing Landfill areas per Missouri DNR guidelines:
All areas noted on the attached map to be mowed at least two (2) times per year, leaving a depth of 6” of vegetative cover, however, vegetation shall not grow higher than five (5) feet in height. Hay is to be taken from this area, and baled hay will be removed from the Landfill surface within ten (10) days

A site showing is set for Monday, June the 5th 2023 at 9:00 AM. The site showing must be attended in order to provide a bid.

Sealed bids are to be received at the Newton County Commission Office, 101 South Wood Street, Suite 309, Neosho MO 64850 by June 8th 2023 no later than 0800. Envelopes must be SEALED and labeled Landfill Hay Bid. SEALED Bids will be opened at 202 W Brook Street Neosho MO 64850 at 0900 on June the 8th with a decision made at that time.

The Newton-McDonald County Landfill Board reserves the right to extend the contract for more than one mowing season.
